787-10 gets first North America assignments

Boeing's latest, and biggest, Dreamliner, the 787-10 will soon start flying in North America and from the U.S. to Europe, with United Airlines. United is the second airline to actually own the 787-10; Singapore Airlines is the launch customer, but for now will be using its 787-10s only in the Pacific region.

United has 14 Dash-10s on order, and will start using them in daily service between New York/Newark and its California hubs at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Starting in March, the new planes will appear on routes from Newark/Liberty to Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels and Dublin, as well as Tel Aviv.

United has now become the only airline to own all three 787 versions. The Dash-10 is about 18 feet longer than the 787-9 and holds 318 seats in United's configuration, with 199 in coach, 54 in Economy Plus, 44 business class and 21 in what United calls 'Premium Plus.'

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
