ome of the world's best-known destinations, such as Venice and Barcelona are struggling with what may be an excess of success at the tourist trade, while other areas that offer great value and interest go nearly untouched.

That's Cape Finisterre, by the way, a rocky finger into the Atlantic, west of Santiago de Compostela. In medieval times, pilgrims to Compostela often finished their journeys by burning their old clothes and boots at Finisterre before heading home.
