Zoo Portraits

This snow leopard’s color is pretty good camouflage among rocks, too.

Any visit to a zoo has its highlights, even at a smaller zoo like the Boston-area Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts.  For me, this time, the two highlights were the butterflies and some personable animals, seen below.

A scarlet ibis seemed to be asking me what I was staring at
The gila monster, on the other hand, could hardly be bothered to look up
Spotted on the Rocks—a jaguar at rest
It was a hot day, and this reindeer stayed close to his powerful fan
