A Sunday stampede at a rail station in Wales caused hours of delays across Wales last Sunday.
The cows wandered onto the tracks—and the platforms—at the Neath Station in southwest Wales and had to be rounded up and herded off the premises before services could be restored. Lines were blocked and services delayed between Cardiff and Swansea for several hours.
Cows are apparently not the only animal intruders causing issues on British rail lines; according to Network Rail, after humans, the next biggest problem is deer, with nearly 350 incidents a year, followed by sheep, 177 incidents, birds at 172 and cows only fifth at 156.
