The rural Wales village of Northop Hall is soon to officially take on an official Welsh-language name, but some residents say it will make the village a laughing stock.
The new name, which has 400-year-old roots, is Pentre Moch, which translates to Pigs Village.
Aside from its historic roots, it has the advantage of not being dozens of letters long and unpronounceable by English speakers.
Against those who fear being a laughing stock, other residents told BBC that they were pleased because the Welsh language “isn’t heard enough.”
