Plans are moving forward for a £300 million winter sports resort in southern Wales that would include Britain’s longest indoor ski slope and would become a training site for Team GB skiiers.
The complex, near Rhydycar West, Merthyr Tydfil, still needs planning approval from local authorities, but the Welsh government has said it will not call the plans for review, leaving the locals with the last word.
If approved, other features will include an indoor tropical water park with water slides and an artificial beach, hotels, woodland lodges and a conference center.
