While many travelers look for access to a lounge while waiting at airports or head for the duty-free shopping, at one Japanese airport there’s a tuneful option: a Karaoke booth that puts some music into travelers’ lives.
It’s at Saga International Airport, and at a surprisingly low price of 100 yen per person per song, about 67c U.S., you get access to the colorful booth with two microphones and four sets of headphones.
The booth is made by Daiichikosho, a company specializing in karaoke equipment; its spokesperson told Japan News that it offers a good way for visitors to use up “Japanese coins that they won’t be able to exchange.”
An in-booth clock has been installed to make sure passengers are not late to the departure gate following lyrical layovers.
