The streets of Strasbourg, in the central area near the cathedral, are quieter as evening falls; the tour groups are gone, and most others drift off to homes or dinner. The light can seem magic, as in a garden, above, near the Cathedral, or in the great church itself.

On the cathedral square, cafes and one of the world’s oldest restaurants draw customers, and around the corner, the ornate carousel is still lit, but unmoving.

Time for me to head around the other corner, to one of my favorite Strasbourg restaurants, and a regional specialty: choucroute garni, with possibly more sorts of pork than you might encounter in any other meal.

Excellent photos. Simply beautiful!
