I'll be in Southern Spain next month for 9 days, staying mainly in Seville, but with a loop-around at the end (Thursday early to Cordoba, Thursday late to Granada, Friday and Saturday in Granada, and then back to Seville Saturday night for Sunday flight home).

We've rented a small house in Seville through AirBnb and have a hotel in Granada, and one in Seville near the airport bus stop for the last night. We've pretty much planned out Cordoba and Granada, including pre-purchasing Alhambra tickets including night visit.

What we don't have, and would love to hear more on, are:

  • Restaurant suggestions for all three cities (although Cordoba will only be lunch)
  • Suggestions other than the obvious (Alcazar, Capilla Real, Macarena) for Seville
  • Any experience on day-trip to Jerez from Seville

The one thing we're sure of in Jerez is visiting the Tio Pepe winery, at least in part because a major part of its facility is a circular aging building designed by...wait for it...Gustave Eiffel.

Again, thanks for any help!

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations

Will you have a car?  I ask, because if you will, you might consider stopping at one or more of the White Towns between Seville & Granada.  I stayed a week in a house just outside Iznajar, a lovely little place, and visited a bigger town, Antequera, worth a stop.  For a brief stop I'd recommend the smaller town, one of a number in the area, millions of olive trees everywhere.  There is no train there although Antequera has a station, but outside the town.

Below the town of Iznajar, beside the lake, is a restaurant you might try for lunch on your way through (if you have a car).  They have outdoor seating if the weather is good and is a place we went several times and enjoyed very much.  http://www.hoteliznajar.com/
