A sandwich that can be found almost anywhere in France has been honored as the world’s best sandwich by Time Out magazine: the classic jambon beurre—ham and butter on a baguette.
The magazine also named a bistro in Paris’s 2e arrondissement as having the best of best, saying “Here, jambon beurre is a piece of art. They’re made to order and prepared in front of you using Julien Bakery’s award-winning baguettes, gobs of super-fresh craft butter and ribbons of ham straight from the bone.”
Number 2 on the list is not so simple; it’s a bacon, scallop and black pudding sandwich at an oyster bar near London, followed by a Miami mash-up of a Reuben and a Cubano, with pulled pork, corned beef, Swiss cheese, pickles, sauerkraut, yellow mustard and Russian dressing on grilled rye.
If you’ve the stomach for it, here’s the rest of the list.
