I’ve never traveled with a mascot before — not even a tiny one. Perhaps I’ve been missing out on some fun.
Years ago while cruising along the face of the vast Perito Merino Glacier in Patagonia I saw this fellow taking a photo of a small stuffed toy elephant. The toy was sitting on the ships top railing and was cute. I especially liked the pirate patch on its left eye.

The photo below shows you the scene behind the toy mascot. Patagonia is such an amazing and beautiful place.

I’ve never even thought of traveling with a mascot. Maybe we should create a little stuffed Gumbo to take selfies with…
Good idea, Paul! Perhaps some stuffed TG letters that we can easily pack and pull out for photos!
Yes. Another travel writer and I purchased a gnome in Germany, Fritzie. Fritzie went to Vietnam, Cambodia, and many other countries until, on one trip, she forgot to bring Fritzie, and the tradition ended. It was fun while it lasted!
I’m sure Fritzie (great name) is ready to hit the road again, Marilyn!
