Palm Garden Resort is a lovely beachfront property in Hoi An. We spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the city and this property.
The resort is located several kilometers from Hoi An’s ancient town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and sits on roughly 12 acres of land. It’s close enough to the historic city, which can easily be reached by car or motorcycle, yet feels a universe apart. There are advantages to staying in a historic city, but the advantages of a peaceful resort while in the middle of a busy trip exceeds them in my mind.
There are more than 200 rooms and suites of variable configurations and sizes, larger ones sleeping up to 6 people. They are comfortably appointed and spacious. Our room was facing the beach, which was nice but not necessary as we didn’t spend that much time in our room.
The resort has private beach access, (with loungers and umbrellas), with ocean views. Lots of people go for walks or jog on the beach.
There is a large outdoor pool with a kids’ section, whirlpool/jacuzzi, and poolside service.
The resort has a Spa with indoor/outdoor treatment rooms offering a variety of therapeutics.
There are multiple options for dining out, notably the Terrace Café (which had a fabulous breakfast buffet), the Colibri Beachfront Restaurant (international/Italian-inspired, seafood, ocean views), and additional venues such as the beachside bar.
Palm Garden Resort is known for its manicured tropical gardens (with over 400 species of plants) and lotus ponds. These were among my favorite things to explore at the resort:
We enjoyed our stay in Hoi An, having plenty of time to explore the city and with a day to relax at this fine resort. From here, our adventures took us to Saigon, but more on that later.
