The Old Saigon Post Office (Saigon Central Post Office) is a lovely remnant of Vietnam’s French colonial occupation. It’s located in the heart of Saigon (now called Ho Chi Minh City), beside the Cathedral (which was closed for renovations when we visited). Besides being a tourist attraction, it’s still an actively used post office today. Construction of the building took place between 1886 and 1891.
The post office was designed primarily by French architect Marie-Alfred Foulhoux who designed several other important colonial buildings. The building blends European styles with some East Asian and Khmer-inspired elements.

There is no entrance fee. The building still functions as a post office so if you like to send postcards from your travels, this would be a good place to get them stamped..
