My husband Gene and I just recently took a 3-day weekend and spent some time exploring Cheyenne. One of the cool and interesting things to check out are the 30 hand painted boots located throughout the city. You can miss them as they are 8 feet tall and each boot is painted by one or more of the area’s creative and talented artists. We saw quite a few but only took a few pictures of the one located at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza.

What we didn’t know at the time was that the placement of the boots started as a joint project of the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation and the Downtown Development Authority. The boots were sponsored by local businesses and auctioned at a fundraiser. The nearly $100,000 raised went to the Cheyenne Depot Museum Endowment Fund to benefit the museum. It was so cool seeing them throughout the city. Make sure to check them out when you are in the area.
