Thaweesin Hot Spring is a popular attraction in the Chiang Rai Province of northern Thailand. The hot springs is situated right along the main road between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai (Highway 118), about halfway between the two cities, making it a convenient stopping point.

Here you will find a natural hot springs, with the water geothermally heated up to 95°C (near boiling). There are mineral pools of slightly cooler water intended for foot-soaking areas, which is popular.

Egg boiling is a local tradition wherein baskets of eggs are lowered into the hot water, where they are hard-boiled within a few minutes.

The highlight for many visitors is the geyser-like spouting springs where you can watch (and safely photograph) the steaming water erupt.

The area has become a popular tourist stop, where you can find coffee shops, food stalls, souvenir shops, and toilets.
The spot is generally open daily from dawn to dusk (hours vary somewhat). It’s free to enter and view the main springs or soak your feet.
