As Liverpool has been given the number 3 spot by Rough Guides in the Top 10 World Cities I thought maybe somewhere to visit ( Free ) if you pass this way.The Victoria Gallery and Museum isn’t well advertised. But it’s full of amazing stuff.
A couple of summers ago in Northern Italy, I suddenly realized that the Leaning Tower of Pisa was far from unique—we were seeing them everywhere, but Pisa obviously had the best publicity agent.
On a visit to Windsor Castle in England, I couldn’t resist the opportunities to photograph the Queen’s Guard as they patrolled the neighborhood.
VisitBritain, the official tourist-promotion agency of UK, has published a list of “DOs” and “DON’Ts” for hotels and employees. Some are pretty obvious (don’t make fun of Indian accents) and some are based on common national stereotypes.
Basking in the warmth of an unusually sunny and delightful English summer, there is nothing nicer, particularly if you are a hot horse, than being able to queue up for a cooling ice cream cone at the Winstones ice cream van.

Enough to live in it? Developers have bought a disused London tube station and plan to convert it, and the building above, to luxury apartments.
Travelers flying from Britain will be forced to pay even more in Air Passenger Duty. it’s the sixth time in as many years.
TravelGumbo now draws your attention to Liverpool. It was the EU’s 2008 Capital of Culture winner. It’s a fantastic city with some of the best free museums I’ve seen anywhere.
London will build another pedestrian/cycle bridge over the River Thames. Looks like a beautiful project. .
