France has a full menu on tap for summer visitors and locals, even without the frenzy of last summer’s run-up to the Olympics.
Some are well-known and draw world-wide coverage such as the Roland Garros tournament, one of the major Grand Slam events of tennis, the Tour de France bicycle race and of course, Bastille Day.
Others are worth noting if less-known, including festivals celebrating regional foods, various styles and eras of music and even medieval sports. TheLocal.fr has drawn up a list of 29 events it calls the “unmissable festivals and events” in France this summer.
