Some Art from Granville Island

Granville Island is just south of Vancouver.  It used to be an industrial area, but has been gentrified and now is a touristy destination with lots of interesting shops, great restaurants, and a fine market.  It has become a favorite place in the city to spend an evening or weekend day.

While exploring the island, here’s some of the art we saw:

An Inukshuk
A nicely decorated bear
Art on the weight-bearing pillars of the Granville Bridge, which passes over the island

Perhaps the most elaborately decorated bus I’ve ever seen, featuring a mural of the Vancouver skyline.
