Two new options for fantasizing are making the rounds, presently in Dallas and London, but destined to travel to other cities.
In London, paying customers have an opportunity to roam with dinosaurs in scenes based on the Jurassic Park movie and its upcoming sequel to be released this summer. It’s at NEON Battersea, a new visitor space near the Battersea Power Station.
Called Jurassic World: The Experience will allow visitors to be immersed in scenes inspired by the beloved films including walking beneath a towering Brachiosaurus, exploring the lab of genetic development, coming face to face with Velociraptor Blue, and even get a rare up-close look at the most vicious dinosaur of them all, the Tyrannosaurus rex. Guests will also be able to interact with baby dinosaurs, discover and engage with actual fossilized dinosaur bones.
For those looking for adventure with fuzzier and likely less scary companions, there is the Smurf Experience (notice everything is an ‘experience’ these days?) opening May 7 at Arlington Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It’s a fully-immersive 13,000 square foot visit to nine ‘mission-based zones’ in the heart of Smurf Village. The missions include interactive scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, virtual reality adventures, meet-and-greets with beloved Smurf characters and more. And, not surprisingly, it too, has a new movie debuting in July.
