Younger cruise passengers—often with less time to be away and looking for more rather than longer breaks—are growing the popularity of 4-day cruises, according to recent reports.
A recent report in USA Today identifies Gen Z and millennials as the most likely to opt for the shorter trips that can fit into a long weekend, rather than the common 7- to 10-day itineraries that have made up most cruise offerings.
And, it doesn’t appear to be driven by prices; according to Jason Liberty, head of Royal Caribbean, those passengers “like to take shorter vacations. They like to do them more frequently. But they tend to spend the same amount of money that they would spend on a short vacation as they would on a long vacation.”
