Re: Gifts to bring back from Portugal or Barcellona

I may not be much help, because we tend to send postcards to the grandchildren from each city, with notes about what we've seen and think they would be interested in, and to avoid filling the suitcase with physical items. But for those few things we do buy, we usually go to the market! One of our travel rituals, on the first day when we stock the apartment, is to look for a local preserve or jam that we don't see at home (skyberries in Stockholm, for instance). Once we've found one we really...

Re: I get to Boomerang to Spain ! Cheap !

Thanks for pointing this out! By the way, it is also possible to take a free stopover on the international end. For example, a couple of years ago, we flew from NYC to Copenhagen (the routing) but with a week stopover in Stockholm along the way. We've used that kind of routing a number of times. Adding to your point about Britain: Many of AA's European cities are actually served by their closely-tied partners, British Air and Iberia. So, PHeymont, when you stopped for the week in Stockholm which airline was it and what fees were you charged for the stopover? You mention Madrid. Re: My first flights on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

On my return overnight flight (Philly - UK) last week I had my headphones on. I was conducting the orchestra while "Queen" sang Barcelona. Fast asleep. There was a crash that woke me. The Trolley Dolly had crashed her drinks cart into the empty seat next to me. The Trolley Gaffer came down the aisle and said to her "What is the matter with you tonight ?" "This guy keeps putting me off " she said. And pointed to me. She stopped by later and explained she was only joking. "You're more than...
