Christmas Holiday Wedding ideas

Wedding ideas for a Christmas-themed wedding should be very interesting and fun. Think about going along the corridor, dressed in a real Christmas outfit and enjoy the wedding reception, which is filled with all the comfortable products associated with the season. Think of cinnamon and spices, think about mistletoe and blueberries, and it's best to think about sleighs drawn by horses on the way to the wedding venue. The following are the Christmas holiday wedding ideas: Invitation All brides...

Many Happy Returns! German company rents Christmas trees

Paul Heymont ·
For those who hate to have a cut-down tree and then throw it out, but can't bring themselves to love an artificial tree, Germany's Happy Tree company has a solution. They'll rent you a festive tree, and then take it back after the holiday. A startup last year when they rented 400 trees to customers in Cologne and Dusseldorf, this year they are aiming at 3000, in 12 cities, including Hamburg, Bremen and Hannover. Last year, about 75% of the trees survived the holidays; the company is aiming...

12,000 Mini Miracles

DrFumblefinger ·
Canadian airline, Westjet, has made some clever YouTube clips over the years, some of which we've featured on TravelGumbo.  This might be one of their better efforts. It's rare to see, at least in my opinion, such an effective combination of charity, Christmas cheer, and letting folks know exactly where your company flies (ie. good self-promotion).  If you have trouble viewing that videoclip, here's the link to the youtube site:

Bah! Humbug! DJ hijacks station to play Last Christmas 24 times in a row

Paul Heymont ·
It's nearly Christmas time, and for many of us that means a non-stop barrage of holiday music, but Joe Kohlhofer, a DJ at Austria's Antenne Carinthia station took it to the extreme by playing the same song 24 times in a row. The station was buried in complaints after the young DJ announced that he felt people were not in the proper Christmas spirit and that he would therefore play Wham's 'Last Christmas' for his entire two-hour show. Station officials were unable to stop him, because he had...

TAP Portugal's plane sings Jingle Bells

Paul Heymont ·
Touching or humorous airline videos have become something of a Christmas tradition, and TAP Portugal has joined the crowd with this cute rendition of Jingle Bells, composed entirely of aircraft sounds...the beeps, boops, clicks and more of seatbelts, lavatory doors, PA signals and more, accompanied by on-plane video. Like other airlines' videos, this is not a one-off; here's a link to their flash-mob dance party from June 7, 2011, celebrating the first flight of its Miami-Lisbon route.

Unusual Travel Getaways For All Seasons!

It’s becoming increasingly popular for Aussies to check out Thredbo, a resort that is: open year-round for skiing or snowboarding in winter, mountain biking , hiking, fishing, or just relaxing in the summer season. Still, tourists will come through for more unusual Christmas festivities, since this generally isn’t the rule. By the same token, many Aussies look to experience a white Christmas in other parts of the world, as the literature paints it. There are adventures to be had in the...

Amazing pictures of an incredible place. We were there in October right after the set up the rink. It was so cool to see it up and running. Still wished we had been able to go back in December to see if all decked out for Christmas. It was still beautiful in fall. Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures.

Your post brought back many wonderful memories of past visits to Knott's. We also lived in California years ago (and have since moved away, as have so many) and made a point of visit Knott's every Holiday season because our kids enjoyed it so much. The place is busy, but not nearly as crowded as Disneyland and the admission much more reasonable (probably about half or even less). The park is wonderfully decorated and there were unexpected treats for the kids -- their first toboggan ride down...
