I'm hopeful, since I think the last thing in the world Marriott should want to do is to signal Starwood loyalists that they aren't valued. Wonder how long before SPG rewards will book Marriott rooms...that could be a quick thing to do!

I'm not an ad executive, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express recently, so that qualifies me to tell them. This is a horrible campaign. Couldn't they of come up with a selfie free breakfast campaign instead?

Re: Economy Ticket, Private Jet!

In the spirit of one-upmanship, same number of passengers, bigger plane, I was once one of 2 passengers on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco. It wasn't the advantage I thought it might be as all the flight attendants just went to sleep, so no service rather than personal service. It was a long time ago but memorable enough that I still remember the airline.

This looks like a fantastic trip and any reason to go by train is good one to me. Wondering if the place names (Adelaide, Alice, Katherine) recall days of too few settler women for the number of men?

A very useful bunch of information, PHeymont. I've been an AA/Citibank cardholder for over 8 years now and am a satisfied customer. I realize I might squeeze more points out if I open new accounts but I prefer to not have to think too much, be the tortoise and concentrate on piling up the points in 1 place by putting every possible purchase on the card, never spending more than I normally would.
