Re: Wetting My Whistle: Berkeley Springs water tasting
I was very intrigued by your informative water tasting experience. I've been to Berkeley Springs a number of times on my drive from my home in Charlottesville Virginia to my hometown of Pittsburgh PA. There is a lot to see there. A museum, painted wall murals, old style movie theater, water springs spa park with some named after famous visitors, and old railroad station. Some of the few photos I've taken. Also, lots of local diners serving up delicious fare. Definitely worth a detour and a...

Re: New York Botanical Gardens Holiday Train Show
Love small railroad layouts. My dad and all the relatives in Pittsburgh use to put up a train platform under their Christmas trees every year with miniature houses, people and vehicles. Seems no one does that tradition anymore.

Re: Learning from the Past in Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Learned quite a bit about the Johnstown Flood and Frick's role in the disaster when I did a TG story on the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh. A sad tale of his desire of wanting to be with the upper crust circle of the rich at the time. Thanks for the superb photos and story Stephanie.

Re: Murals in Santurce, Puerto Rico
First mural wearing #21 must be my baseball hero, Roberto Clemente. I would always enjoy seeing him play with my hometown Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the first Caribbean and the first Latin-American player to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame after his tragic death when flying relief supplies to Nicaragua after an earthquake. His professional baseball career began at age 18 when he accepted a contract with Cangrejeros de Santurce ("Crabbers"), of the Puerto Rican Professional Baseball...

Re: Titan Missile Museum, Green Valley, Arizona
Brings back anxious memories. I served on active duty with the US Army in Germany 1972-73 during the Cold War, and when I was in High School we did drills if Russian ICBM's were sent to target my hometown steel mills in Pittsburgh. Drills encompassed curling up under our shoddy wooden desks. That was real protection !!
