Well that was 'only' 35 mph (Beaufort force 7 or 30 knots) but I was starting to feel pretty exposed! I think my toupé blew off and not just my hat!! The wind is predicted to edge up higher (Force 8) tomorrow around mid day so I might taken another look . At "the Bill" where the lighthouse is, one is close to sea level but 3 miles further back the island rises to nearly 500 feet and thus it wonderfully protects Portland harbour (below) and nearby Weymouth.

Marilyn. I fear your application of intelligence to packing is way beyond the average man. Maybe a guy who's had training in the armed services. I struggle with keeping my sock draw in matched pairs. But I take my hat of to you - for your wonderful magical skills. Maybe a few weeks packing at the check out in Wal Mart would teach me some skills.

If your destination is New Delhi ( 100F ) then you'll need to add Thermal Underwear - an Overcoat - Gloves and a fur lined Hat to enjoy Iceland !
