It's also fun and interesting to read an area's industrial history from its buildings. The projection above the windows, easily matched elsewhere, is the clue to large-scale milling—a way to lift sizable loads to the top to allow gravity to play a role in processing. As Garry points out, there are similarities to buildings used for similar purpose everywhere!

The statue is built on top of a Museum. The Country removed its Communist Government in 1989 - which is when construction started. It was completed in 2008 Visitors to the statue can walk through the statue to the head of the horse There is also a lift / elevator if you are not inclined to tackle the steps.

I remember reading with fascination about this in a couple of articles by Barry Lopez. It was saddening to hear of the wanton damage done on the past, but equally gladdening (?) to learn that intact granaries and other structures are still in existence but very closely guarded. Such archaeological evidence is a delight and tells us a lot about these early inhabitants ❤️
