Thank you for sharing your memories, and wakening some of my own. It's a trite line, I know, but despite all that changes, "we'll always have Paris." In fact, maybe that's 'because' and not 'despite.'

I'm old enough to remember the Vegas Years, although was too young at the time to go see Elvis in Vegas. Fans always commented that Elvis was at his best in Vegas -- relaxed, chatty (talking to the crowd a lot), and despite it's large size, it was a fairly intimate performance venue with lots of direct audience contact. This is a wonderful post. Great pictures. I passed just south of here a couple of summers ago, but I did get to Oatman AZ. See my blog post here . I look forward to getting back to Laughlin and to Vegas.

Great article! Laughlin really is so different from Vegas and if you can call any spot with gambling, slow paced, Laughlin is it.
