Marilyn, it was lovely and enchanting. I plan to post more pictures of Tallinn and other Baltic destinations in the run-up to Christmas. I'm sure you would like to visit them all.

I've been wondering about these arches, Mac. Were the purely aesthetic, or is there some function to them that you could discern?

I think the arches were actually functional, probably bracing the wall of the building on the right against the thicker fortress wall on the left. The tiled tops must be to protect the arch against the effects of the weather eroding the arches. Unusual, in any event.
