Re: Lighthouses of Lake Havasu – Part 2 of 3

DrFumblefinger ·
Makes me want to go out, buy an RV and go see all the lighthouses in the world! I love lighthouses, and to have so many in one place, even if they're "just" replicas, is great! Thanks, Samantha.

Cool idea, lighthouses all over. Do boaters on the lake count on them, or just for fun?

They are cool to see. Some are just for fun, but many of them do actually light up to help the boaters.

Some wonderful pix of Australia that bring back so many memories of my visits Islandman I could look at those rock formations for hours. Looking into a million years of history. Australia is certainly like nowhere else on Earth and every day is a fascinating adventure. Certainly is a well written comprehensive Blog you've presented. I've enjoyed it. Thanks.

Dream big! Designer thinks about huge zero-emission planes

Imagine a triple-decker plane that could carry 800 passengers, made almost no noise, and generated much of its own power in flight. Barcelona designer Oscar Vinals is working on that vision, and while much of it depends on whether technologies just...

This statue of Georges Clemenceau, is one of my favorite Paris statues, not least because it embodies none of the heroic classicism that tends to make the person being honored seem a concept rather than a person. Here, no matter what the...

If only that plane could also take us to the moon, then all my dreams would have come true. PHeymont, you and I will never see anything like this in our lifetimes. But I like dreamers and maybe in time technology will take us there.

I couldn't sleep on a plane like that. The fear of hitting a storm and having to turn off all the lights to conserve energy. Or being stuck in Atlanta - again - waiting for days for the bad weather to clear - to charge the batteries.
