Ethiopia offers a lot of highlights, but the Rock-Hewn Churches (Lalibela, but also Tigray) are simply breathtaking) You definitely should plan that trip ;-)

Ethiopia has actually one of them oldest Christian community in the world. You find those amazing churches in Lalibela, but also in the Tigray area (which I haven't visited yet... But will do in November) Ethiopia is one of the most stunning and rewarding countries I have ever traveled Cheers, Gilles

Legend says that King Lalibela returned from Jerusalem with the order to build a second Jerusalem. And so he did! Churches, as high as three-story-buildings, were hewn deep into the reddish colored rock, connected by short tunnels....
