Re: How do you buy your travel?

PortMoresby ·
There's been no mention, that I noticed, of consolidators for multi-segment air travel. I've had great success over the years using Airtreks and now, after a number of bookings, have a "relationship" with an agent there. The only job of a consolidator is to find their clients the cheapest fares point to point and string them together to make a unique personalized trip. They use airlines with which they have contracts for the lowest fares so, short of a spectacular sale, will, as far as I can...

HistoryDigger ·

It was cheaper to ship our own car to Germany than to buy or rent one for two years. But, back to to phone...We will update this post with relevant news.

One of the smartest decisions we made on our trip was taking the ferry from Trellis Bay to Virgin Gorda and renting a car for the day. It was very freeing to explore the island on our own and take our time. I have to say, the BVI was the most romantic, most memorable trips we've ever taken. It definitely took us out of the box of our normal travel and helped us see...

Of course cargo ships still have to make sure they stay healthy, but as there will likely be no more than 12 passengers on your cargo ship...

Something to keep in mind, a variety of factors can conspire to keep passengers on the ship at ports. Having sailed on CMA CGM from Singapore to Malta, for a variety of reasons we were never allowed off the ship. Travelers should definitely check specifics before booking if it's important to them.
