Re: Banksy Opens up a Bemusement Park in England

PortMoresby ·
I suspect even the font used by Disney for the name is registered and proprietary. I also think it's all part of the conceptual piece as imagined by Banksy, no fool, and he's hoping for a suit, the sooner the better. All publicity is good publicity and part, I strongly suspect, of his conceptual overview.

New clue: don't be fooled by the language on the Happy Hour sign...that's not its native language! (Actually, I was hoping it WOULD fool some people, but the rest of the scene doesn't really say "English-speaking," does it?)

Re: New Hope for the Jet-Lagged?

Travel Rob ·
I always am fine coming home. What gets me is those early arrivals when we go to Europe. I have to struggle that first day to stay awake or I never get on track .I like arriving in the afternoon or evening and then I'm ok. As shift workers learn quickly, light and darkness does play a big part in good sleep A lot of factories now try to keep workers from seeing the night to fool the body into thinking it's day

Re: The Colorful, Gritty Barrio of La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina

DrFumblefinger ·
I'm a cautious but not paranoid traveler, GarryRF, but the warnings from the portenos were so frequent and so intense, you'd be a fool not to pay attention to them. The area around Caminito is well policed (dozens of police around), so I wouldn't worry about going there. But if you don't look like a native, best not to wander the neighborhood. La Boca is charming. But it has a rough edge to it. Be careful if you go.

Flour and egg battle marks Spanish town's tradition

Paul Heymont ·
Ibi, in Eastern Spain's Valencia region, was a battlefield Monday as two "armies" fought each other for control of the town, using flour, eggs and firecrackers as weapons. It's hard to say who won. The mock battle takes place every Dec. 28, which is Dia de los Inocentes, roughly equivalent to April Fools' Day in effect. In the 200-year-old tradition, the insurgents seizing the town under the slogan of "New Justice" served as "Enfarinats," or "flour police," levying fines under a mock system...
