Re: Merry Christmas from Knott's Berry Farm

DrFumblefinger ·

The place is busy, but not nearly as crowded as Disneyland and the admission much more reasonable (probably about half or even less). The park is wonderfully decorated and there were unexpected treats for the kids -- their first toboggan ride down...

Re: Antigua, Guatemala: A Walking Tour, Part 1

DrFumblefinger ·
Great photos and wonderful descriptions! We visited Antigua many years ago, but it was shrouded in the day we were there and we didn't get to see the famous volcanoes. It seems I missed much on my exploration of the city, but some of these sites are familiar. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to part II.

Re: St. Helena: airport built, planes can't land

I can't believe the wind is a new thing, although I suppose it can vary in intensity from season to season and even year to year. You'd think some engineer would have investigated this before the investment of $400 million!

Project planned and completed by an obscure government department 15,000 miles away. More explanation needed? I’d almost bet the locals could have set them straight if not for the desire not to jeopardize the construction ever happening…
