I'm glad to hear good news on this front...it's certainly a distressing time for many, including our own Travel Rob, who has had to evacuate from Saint Augustine, Florida. And there are concerns that the storm may turn and hit some areas a second time...

GarryRF, You must try the King (Elvis Presley's) favorite sandwich. Peanut butter and banana, fried in butter. Forget about the cholesterol -- give it a go. It's much better than it sounds! Yes DrF.... Those Ozzies have some strange habits ! First time in Coogee Bay Hotel Sydney I ordered Steak and Chips (Fries) Guy showed me a Tupperware Picnic Box full of raw steak. You choose, then he puts it on a plate for you. You take it outside to the "Barbee" (BBQ). You cook it how you like it. Then come back in for your Chips and salad ! That is all part of Thanksgiving. Bad weather and lots of delays for Thanksgiving Eve are a long standing holiday tradition. Somehow, the flight delays always seem to happen on the way to grandma's house on Wednesday, not on the return trip on Sunday to go back to work.

I really enjoy Thanksgiving Day when I'm staying with my American family over there. Some of the food you have that I've never seen in England ! You wouldn't think our cultures could be that far apart ! Ambrosia with Turkey ? Pumpkin Pie ? Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches ? And I'd love a piece of that beautiful Apple Pie - but why the Cinnamon disguise ? Hope you all have a wonderful day folks ! Me ? - I'm off to work as normal !

Sadly, I'll be one of the throng. My least favorite time of the year to travel, but the most fun weekend of the year to be with family. Makes it all worthwhile All it will take is a bad snowstorm somewhere and things will really come undone. Expect all flights to be completely full, so good luck rescheduling. There's probably more people flying over the Christmas and New Year period, but this travel is spread out over 2 weeks, rather than just 4-5 days.

Hi GarryRF! I do hope that by the time Hurricane Cristobal reaches the UK it will be nothing more than a weak tropical storm. Don't worry Travel Luver ! No animals were harmed in the making of this film. You have to wait in the Bar until the "All clear" sounds in a storm ! But it actually caused no damage at all. It's fitted with a lightening rod to take the current to earth. Like all tall buildings.

No - no more Fish. Fish like Cod and Haddock like the colder waters of the UK. Too much heat and they go further North to Iceland. The Gulf Stream often gets caught in a pattern. Its been stuck for months now, bringing us warm water to raise temperatures. At this time of year we get an overnight frost and cool days. But we've had 50f at night and over 60f during the day.
