We alternate, depending on trip configuration, on two "soft" but not very 21" Delseys and a single 25" Swissgear of similar construction. Good point about the wheels. It was while pulling a suitcase across cobblestones that I became devote to the trolley-style wheels. Even Eagle Creek and Pacsafe bags can be purchased on sale or at discounted travel supply vendors. Whatever you buy, be sure it is a well constructed bag with heavy duty zippers and latches that won't fall apart on you when you travel (which has happened to me with a cheaper duffel-style roller made by Sierra Design).

Any idea how long the island is going to be closed? I'd hope to visit Lanai in about 2 years. Must be nice to buy your own Hawaiian Island -- and interesting to see if this "green" scheme will work. Lanai has limited resources, except for lots of sunshine a great weather.

Time for another clue. Gumbo has reached the town that is his destination, in the presence of some friends. The type of gear you see is typical of what visitors to this part of the globe use when they travel here. The construction of this home is also typical of the local style. Does that help? As an aside, does anyone recognize the fellow in the yellow jacket? He is quite well known in his area of expertise (although is not the point of our puzzle).

The roof line is different because your photo is taken from the opposite end. There are so many other distinctive details, the style of mooring for instance, as well as the dock, and the missing stovepipe is behind leaves in yours. I'm also somewhat familiar with the area, having lived twice in Sausalito. I know of no other houseboats on the way to Muir Woods. Give up.

Don't worry, Garry. These chickens are far from being endangered. Their direct relatives (look just like them) are wandering in large numbers all over the Hawaiian islands. Here they are pursued for the pot. But they replenish so quickly that's not a problem. Only two kinds of chickens in the UK? -- I'd always thought it was roosters and hens. But the concept of fresh and frozen is interesting. Wonderful how those would mate?

It is a great photo! Aussie culture sounds a lot like Hawaiian culture. When work in Honolulu ends, there is a massive migration of youngsters and their surfboards to Waikiki. Here the waves are a lot more predictable because of the coral reefs, but the enthusiasm for the water sounds very similar.

Prince Henry certainly knew how to overnight sailors in style. I have visited this museum and found it just terrific. It is worthwhile for seaman and landlubber alike. The original church on the site was built about 1450 by Prince Henry the Navigator, and became the place where sailors spent the night before leaving on the expeditions that built Portugal’s colonial empire.

The painted figures appear to me to be in the style of the Pre-Raphaelite movement, second half of the 19th century, England. The movement also influenced the later Arts & Crafts movement up to the early 20th C. So I'm guessing it isn't a very old building, maybe 100-150 years old (if I'm right about the decoration). You can see all the faces looking out. Shouting and waving at their friends as they travel to work in style ! Beats a cycle ride in the heat. Its often a 2 hour drive on slow bumpy roads. Hotel gives them a pre-paid ticket each. No windows - just natures AirCon ! Cuban Workers Bus ! Like a Taxi - but bigger !
