Once had a white 1976 MG Midget. It was a constant maintenance nightmare, but loved the feel of the cabriolet with the top down.

I think '79 or '80 was the end of the line for MGB, so you're probably in the right time-frame. Sad thing about the B...it could never look to me like an MG. Tell me MG, and this is what I see...

I, too, have a fondness for the 2CV, along with the MG T series. I used to hear the story that you could go into a hardware store in France, and come back with parts, a wrench to install them, and change from a 10-franc note... RBCiao, a Gumbo member, has even found a service in Paris that gives tours of the city in a Deux Cheveaux! He posted a picture of himself on the tour a few months ago.

And I'm partial to the 55 Bel Air. Probably the subdued black and white, not the peacockish "Jamaican Bay" color.

The stuff that dreams are made of ! The '57 Bel Air has to be the one above the crowd. Loved the MGs and memories of the time when you could fix your own Midget and Sprite without a College degree ! Happy Days !

Re: Gumbo's Pic of the Day, October 6, 2014: The Twelve Apostles - Victoria, Australia

Great picture MAD TD. I have visited this place on many occasions and never tire of it (being raised a VICTORIAN I'm a tad biased, of course). It's such a magical place and a joy to photograph. I remember when the "apostle" in the foreground of the first picture collapsed not so long ago. One person that was there said "one second it was there and the next it was gone". The power of nature!
