January 15, 2016: Stonehenge Summer Solstice
The sign of times soon to come! This was my first summer solstice sunrise at Stonehenge in England and I love the picture because it heralds the warm sunny days that are yet to come (please!) after the dark days of winter. The solstice sun-rises are the only occasions these days when the public are allowed to be within touching distance of the old stones that comprise 'the Henge'.

I've done most of those activities in the Oz winter. The winter time is a much cooler version of summer with temperatures below the 100f + that they get at Xmas - nearer 60/70f and just as sunny. Much more pleasant for a traveller from the frozen north. The Bridge Climb was a hoot - laughing all the way. But climbing trees is an invasion of Spider Territory. But at least the tree snakes eat 'em. Not for me.

Been to Zurich one time in the Spring and enjoyed the pedestrian zone and eating at an outdoor table with no traffic or fumes. Switzerland was my favorite country destination, especially Lucerne and Grindelwald. My wife Diane liked the Alpine region of Austria the best.
