Dgems, maybe you should give Patricia Silva a call and ask her about her varieties of roses. She's up off 49, down Newtown Road and must have deer too. I don't recall fences that would inhibit them. The only one I checked was a David Austin variety, the pale pink climber in the horizontal photo above.

I can't see why they would change if their stock is up already 49% this year. Airlines are making record profits in the US now and that's mainly been because of higher fares and fees for the consumer. There's not too many true budget airlines left in the US.

The Stage Stop is one of those buildings that's become invisible, even while being half the commercial district of San Gregorio. Maybe this illustrates the fact that we see things differently when we're in the picture zone, that it was the first time I really looked at it. I assume it was a gas station, looks like a pump rusting there on the left. But even I'm not old enough to have seen it in action.

I learned a new word this morning, a good one! I suppose in relation to an interstate, it is indeed, shunpiking. But in the foothills, Hwy 49, the road over the new bridge, is the main artery through the area. All things relative.

It sounds like a great adventure! Thanks for sharing it with us. This road trip has been on my bucket list for some time, but sounds like it's worth delaying until the road to Tuk is completed. I've heard fall is a nice time to go. Not only is the tundra vividly colored, but there are no mosquitos (frozen to death by evening frost). Know any downsides to this, Tom?
