A great set of photos! You are right about the need for transport at the site. We contemplated hiring some bicycles, but in the end opted for a tuk-tuk. They were reasonably priced - relatively cheap, actually - and the drivers are quite knowledgeable about the attractions.
Thanks for your comment. It is not a well-known site - even our friend Eranda had never been there (and, as I said, nor had our driver). A visit here can be combined with a safari in Udawalawe or Lunugamwehera. We spent four days in the area and explored all three places as well as a couple of other interesting sights.
