Ryanair is known for its plethora of extra charges, and its CEO Michael O’Leary is known for his firm defense of them, so it seems like fair play that a restaurant in County Meath ‘turned the tables’ by adding about €40 worth of extra charges to his bill.
That included €7.95 for extra legroom, €9.95 for ‘priority booth seating’ and a whopping €19.95 for a ‘quiet area reservation.’ The total bill was €142.30 for two mains, two starters and a bottle of wine.
The restaurant, which said the extra charges were really a joke, posted the tab on social media, along with a picture of O’Leary and a staff member. The assistant manager did tell press, though, that she’ll charge him for real, next time. Responses on social media were, predictably, in favor of making him pay.
