Royal Caribbean may set more limits for kids

Royal Caribbean, known as one of the most family-friendly cruise lines, is thinking of drawing a few lines for kids, reserving some areas only for adults at least at late hours.

Michael Bayley, the line’s CEO, talked about the idea at a recent preview event for the line’s newest ship.

The line has a 1 a.m. curfew when everyone under 17 must be back in their cabin. One possibility is that some areas could be off-limits to youngsters even before the curfew. “It’s probably time for us to take a look at [the curfew]. I think the idea of curfews in some of the bars is a great idea,” Bayley said in a company blog.

Bayley was responding to a travel advisor who told him that unruly children were a complaint from his clients. Bayley acknowledged that the line had been receiving more complaints lately.
