Munich’s big public park, the Englischer Garten, has a lot to offer, including open fields, hiking trails, sports fields, a Chinese Tower and a beer garden. But likely the most unique offering is surfing in a park stream.
Technically, it’s forbidden but undisturbed as long as the surfers keep themselves (if not their surfboards) under control. As you can see from the video below, they do. Everyone lines up for a turn, no one goes in until the one before has fallen off, and everyone seems to be having fun.
