Re: Is your airport bin clean enough? Maybe not.

PortMoresby ·
Is anyone surprised that airports are a health hazard? How about those rubber gloves all the security people wear for protection - protecting themselves from us and passing it all along with every touch to our passports, our belongings and (save me!) a pat-down. Re: Gumbo's Pic of the Day, June 13, 2014: The Damsels of Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

DrFumblefinger ·
The lovely damsels of Sigiriya would be quite at home at Hugh Hefner's PLayboy mansion! Amazingly well preserved given their 1500 year age. Key to visiting, Mac, is to go very early before it gets too hot, or late in the afternoon as it starts cooling down. Re: Spain or Portugal?

Paul Heymont ·
Your budget will take you WAY farther in Portugal than in Spain, although with care you can do well in Spain as well. Portugal, and especially Lisbon, is the home of filling delicious meals in every neighborhood for 5-7€ which lets you spend a bit more on frills and excitement. You might think of something like a week or so based in Lisbon, a few days in Porto and then...if the budget stretches...a budget flight to a last few days in Barcelona (or other city of your choice with US-bound flights.
