Colombia has found a 1708 shipwreck, believed to be the most valuable sunken treasure ever, off the coast of Cartagena. The treasure is worth $2 billion or more, and has been the object of searches and claims almost since the day the ship, the San Jose, was sunk by a British ship that was trying to take its cargo. Great story! I would presume the Columbians have their treasure ship under pretty tight wraps, but that won't stop a few treasure hunters from trying to scavenge a bit of it for themselves. Has the makings of a great movie.

There was actually a commercial salvor who tried to lay claim to this one a few years ago, before it was actually located...and there are some who think the treasure belongs to Spain!
