He's much smaller than I thought -- and I'm talking about the height of the little guy. Besides chocolate their tinkling mascot, the Belgiums also love beer and comics. I was quite surprised at what a comic book culture they have.

Lindt is our absolute favorite chocolate in this house ! Cologne is the first place I ever touched down in a chartered US Army plane back in the Cold War days because Frankfurt was fogged in. Not sure how Koln got altered in English to a Cologne naming. Also went there years later to their wonderful zoo and a cold bottle of the local Kolsch beer.

Love chocolate! Ive been to Brussels many times and everytime Im searching for new brands of chocolate - all of them are awsome! My latest discovery are the Emoti boxes of chocolates , which are originally from Wommelgem.

The French lay no claim to inventing "Frites". The French blame the Belgians for the bulk builder even though they serve it with Mayonnaise - not ketchup ! Is it only Americans who call them French Fries ?

In 1802 a Menu would refer to anything boiled in water as the Anglaise manner.(English) Likewise anything cooked in hot oil was served in the French manner ! Potatoes or Fried Chicken !!

Very true Paul. Many people dislike English Muffins because they sit in your stomach like a lead ball. Of course - nothing to do with us ! So we call them American Muffins - and blame them on you !! Good point Bling ! We have recipes for Apple Pie that pre-date the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. Over a hundred years before ! So is this another Baseball story where Americans re-invent something by changing the size of the bat ?

Looks great! I remember touring that factory as a kid and going home with pockets full of misformed "ugly" chocolates that couldn't be sold. Will have to check out this museum someday

At the beginning of the lockdown here in California, instead of booze as I'm not much of a drinker, I put in an order for delivery of some nice cannabis-infused dark chocolate which I've enjoyed from time to time. Maybe the Swiss chocolatiers are missing an essential ingredient aimed at the times we're in.
