Buffalo, NY is known for cold, and the Buffalo River and sometimes parts of Lake Erie freeze over; the city has been trying to turn it into a tourist and recreation opportunity, including building a 33,000 sq. ft. ice rink. Lisa Florczak, whose family business previously included renting pontoon bicycles that go out on the water went to work and devised a bicycle on ice skates for the winter.
They've been popular, according to an Associated Press article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and other cold-weather cities are looking at them for next year.
