The Faroes—a string of 18 small islands in the North Atlantic—aren't waiting for Google to come and photo-map their bridges and byways. They've mounted 360° cameras on a half-dozen sheep to do the job.
The Faroes are off most people's maps. The tiny Danish territory hugs the Arctic Circle and has a population of less than 50,000, so presumably Google is not in a rush to send cars.
The sheepish mapping results are being collected and uploaded to Google's Street View. Now that you know, you, too can wander the islands as if you were a sheep. Or you can try one of the videos below.
The Faroes have another distinction, one that draws attention they'd rather not have; the islanders are among the last in the world to stage whale hunts.
