Now's the time to put in your bid, as city after city is backing away from hosting the 2022 events. Krakow had a 70% referendum vote against it; Munich, Davos, St. Moritz and Oslo have backed away...

The games that used to be thought a prize catch and economic booster have not done well for recent hosts, and that's made cities shy of the cost and disruption. DETAILS in a very amusing column from The Guardian (UK)

A similar situation may exist for the Summer Games; cities are still competing, but New York, potentially a leading U.S. contender, has decided not to bid because analysts have figured out that the games and their construction would actually disrupt the city's booming tourism business, and reduce the number of visitors! What's funny is everybody enjoyed the Olympics when they used existing older stadiums too. Time to get back to good sportsmanship ,competition, and people coming together

There's too much ego on the part of the hosting country, and the games have gotten too expensive.

It would make sense to return to those cities who have previously hosted and who have already got the proper facilities in place.
