New technology might end all airport lines

A Danish company is testing new technology that will potentially speed passengers through security at a rate of 600 per hour per lane, without unpacking, separating liquids or removing clothes.

While it's not ready for prime-time, Danish developer Exruptive is nearing a live test for its system. Passengers entering the airport would pick up an "intelligent trolley" on arriving at the airport, scan a boarding pass into its tablet, and be guided to the fastest line. All bags and such would go on the trolley; the high-tech scanning system would scan everything, including laptops, liquids and the rest.

The company is counting on a big time savings from having everything go this way. “What happens today is that every passenger has to unpack his or her belongings into plastic trays and each tray is scanned individually. That means that security lines are never faster than the slowest passenger,” Exruptive CEO Jakob Schmidt says.

The company is partnered with a leading Dubai tech firm, and it's "not unlikely" that the first test of the system might come at Dubai's international airport. For more information from TheLocal.dk, click HERE For a video of how the system would work, click below!
