Lego builds its fans a house of blocks

Lego, producer of the iconic little building bricks, is about to open a visitor attraction styled to look like a giant house built with, well, little building bricks.

The Lego House, designed to look like it's built of Legos, will open in September in Billund, Denmark, the company's home town since its founding in 1928. It was designed by architect Soren Askehave. Its 21 'Lego blocks' are tied to a steel bridge frame that allows it to have no interior columns.

Inside, four "experience zones" will house activities, and a place for enthusiasts to display 'masterpiece' constructions they've made of Legos. Admission will be free, but some of the activities will have fees.

The 2000-square-meter building will open with a town festival.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
